II Chronicles 20:12b

“For we have no might…neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.”

The Next Right Thing

By: Nina R. Hall

When evening falls upon a day,
Of long and tumultuous thoughts;
When the sun has set, and all is done,
Each circumstance has been wrought.

What’s done is done; what’s said is said,
The good, the bad, the uncertain;
The hours are sealed, the minutes filled
Our God knows all that’s within.

You’ve solved the world’s problems with a friend or your loved ones,
You’ve called on the Lord for his will.
You’ve sifted the options, and pondered the issues,
But it seems questions linger on still.

It’s then, the resolve echoes clear through your mind,
That there’s nothing else you need to do.
It’s out of your hands, and up to the Lord;
Now all that is left up to you…

Is to wake up tomorrow and do what you know
Is right, and in line with God’s word;
For God’s will for you is found in today,
And not in some mystical future.

Simply determine to do what you’ve learned
From your Bible, your Pastor, your Teachers;
For this God will bless, and you’ll stay in his will
And the future will unfold in pieces.

When you find you’re confused, and want to make all things right,
Just take the next step, trust and sing;
Be faithful and true, for his peace comes to you,
When you just do the next right thing.

Psalm 119:133

“Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.”

Nina came to know the Lord as a teenager, and is grateful for the Lord’s grace and mercy in her life as she has sought to grow in her relationship with Christ through the years.

She and her husband currently attend Lehigh Valley Baptist Church and enjoy being a part of the ministries there. Along with being a wife and homemaker, she is thrilled to be able to teach music lessons to a number of piano students in the area. Poetry and meditational or motivational writings based on scripture have also remained one of her passions through the years!
