Hello Ladies,

I am sitting here at my computer in absolute awe after last night’s teen service there at LVBC.  I am praising our great Lord and Savior for all He has done and given to us through our teens. (I am grateful that the bushel basket  was removed from off of some of their talents!!) Be sure to thank a teen for their hard work in making such a great, uplifting, spiritual time for all of us.

This opportunity over the last few years has provided our teens with the boost that has helped them develop many different avenues of service for the Lord.  A special thank you to all the adults who put time and effort into this endeavor.

In the past we sent a few teens each year to participate with other Christian school teens in an all state choir in Harrisburg.  While this was a good experience for some of  my older children,  I am even more thankful that our youngest daughter Rachel, and our only other teen member of  HBC, Alan N., are able to develop other God given talents, as well as singing.  As you read this they are probably in Illinois and I pray that they will be as much of a blessing out there as they were here. 🙂

Over the last two months at HBC many of our folks have had the opportunity to travel, on a cruise ship to FL, visit family in NC, help a friend with a new baby in VA, attend a youth rally in OH,  perform with Schuylkill County Chorus, and my husband and I were able to attend an uplifting  preaching conference, also in OH.  This was great for the 18 folks who participated in all these activities but with a church of only 24 a great percentage were missing in services over the same time period. (it seemed like someone was always out of town).   We are looking forward to getting those 24 folks back together “all with one accord in one place” and empowered to do a work for God.  We really need your prayers (trusting that the winter weather should be over by the time you are reading this) to see visitors come out and some growth take place at HBC.  We are gearing up our outreach and will try to put feet to your prayers!!!  Our mission emphasis is coming up as well and it would be great to be able to add an additional missionary family to our group of 6 that we currently support.

I feel as though I am writing the same things in many of my updates but I just don’t want to be neglectful to thank LVBC for your continual support – both financial and prayer- and for the opportunity to participate in activities like the student convention and the couples retreat coming up soon.  I trust that I will see many of you ladies there and we can “catch-up” more at that time.

Blessed by and thankful for  ALL of you.

Your sister-in-Christ,

Sue Gable
