Sue’s August Update

Dear Ladies,
July at HBC has been a relatively quiet month for us.  We had a great 4th of July picnic featuring many delicious Lytle additions to our usually good fare of foods. Thanks for sharing your “Sr Lytle family” with us 🙂  Continue to pray for the safe delivery of “Lucille Lytle,” due on the 15th of this month.  Please pray for Katie as well as she cares for a new baby and an active 2 year old, plus continuing to work as a nurse two nights a week prior to the baby coming.
We have been able to get a great many tracts on doors these past two months –  we finished our immediate “Jerusalem” – Schuylkill Haven- and are continuing to branch out from there.
The next community south of the church required my husband to fill out special forms and give copies to all that are participating to prove we have “permission” to be in their neighborhood.  Some of LVBC teens might remember getting stopped by police a few years back when they came up to help us distribute flyers for a special meeting.  Back then we didn’t know  that the Borough acted as though they were a “gated community” – no one in without permission –  We have a community like that  nearby –  Lake Wynona – the only time were able to get into that community was when my husband and I were counseling a couple who lived in what USED to be a summer resort community around a small lake.   Now it is mostly a year round residential community where you can’t get in unless someone from there gives word to the guard to let you in.  Folks can hide there like Jonah did, but God can still get to them by other means 🙂
We need your prayers for a visiting couple that had been faithful for months.  They have disappeared and are not answering my husband’s calls.  When you only have a dozen or so families in the church it is really sad to see anyone leave and their empty spot is especially noticed.  On a brighter note, my husband and I have enjoyed 3 marriage counseling sessions with a young couple that Gloria Noecker refered to us; John and Ange.  Due to a health issue they were already legally married at the courthouse in May and now would like to exchange marriage vows in front of family, and being unchurched, they needed a preacher.  It’s an unusal open door into their lives please pray for continued openness on their part.
This month we also enjoyed piling our van full of kids & teens for your VBS.  Everyone had a great time and are especially thankful to have a home church to come to where the needs of our folks can be met.
The Gable family is planning to spend a few days visiting two of my sisters in VA this month,  After we get back it will be on to college for Nathan & Judy, 10th grade homeschooling for Rachel, and 2nd grade for Kyla.  Judy is planning to take on the bulk of Kyla’s teaching as she was able to reduce her time away at college to only 2 days per week.  It will not be an easy task for her so she needs your prayers
Thanks in advance,
Your sister in Christ,
Sue Gable
